10 Babymoon Must-Haves Your Bag Needs

Babymoon Must-HavesBabymoons are becoming part of the pre-baby prep ritual and are a great way to connect and have some alone time with your honey in a beautiful, relaxing setting. Many mamas ask me what to pack and I always suggest easy pieces that can be styled up or down and that make packing a breeze. For an island-bound vacation, these modern bohemian-inspired pieces are perfect for day and night.

Start with an embroidered peasant top, maternity tankini and maxi, which are all statement pieces that can be worn with denim, white shorts and simple tees. Most importantly, protect yourself from the sun with an all-natural sunscreen like Nine Naturals as well as with some glam accessories like a straw hat and retro frames. Oh, and have fun!-Olivia

The Ultimate Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump

Bundling up your bump can be tricky. Here’s a little winter maternity outfit inspo and some styling tips made simple to keep you looking and feeling your best for the rest of the season:
Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump 1The fool-proof trick to maternity layering is starting with fitted pieces. A bump-hugging tee and skinnies are the perfect bases for a drapey cardi. Take it a step farther and add a faux fur vest for a chic shape and totally of-the-moment look. Slouchy hat, booties and backpack up the cool-factor!Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump 2When sporting oversized layers like a cardi, look for lightweight fabrics that drape well. The cardi should hit below your top for the right proportion, and when worn with a legging, it’s a comfortable AND cute winter look.
Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump 3The sweater vest is a huge winter trend and another great option for moms-to-be. Layer it over a fitted long-sleeve tee now or sleeveless top later, for a piece that has some style mileage.Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump 4Outerwear isn’t just for bundling up in the cold weather; it can also be a maternity statement maker. The wrap coat is a great option since it’s a silhouette that is universally bump-flattering. Complete the look with a tall boot and over-the-knee sock for a little something unexpected.
Winter Guide to Styling Your Bump 5Turtleneck sweaters are big for Winter 2016. This cable version works so well because of the soft color and fine cable pattern. The blush color and the fitted silhouette keep this look polished and sleek. Layer with ponte leggings and under a coat for your next ski weekend!

From Amaris

Dressing the bump can be a daunting task and even more so when it comes to dressing it for the holidays or a special occasion. Of course with all of the changes we experience during pregnancy, figuring out what to wear is one of the most challenging parts! My advice for when deciding what works is to try and keep it simple. At 36 weeks pregnant, I am finding that I am drawn to more fitted silhouettes typically, and neutral colors like black. I always add a little something extra to my outfits with a bold lip or by accessorizing with jewelry. This long sleeve Rachel Zoe maternity dress is simple and classy, with a little bling thanks to the sequin collar. A piece like this is so effortless and chic, and it really does all the work for you!

Another piece of advice I would share is to pick something comfortable. This is key, especially while attending a holiday party with all that yummy food that is bound to be there. I for one know I like to indulge while pregnant and on top of that, the holidays make it an even better excuse; so, you might as well be wearing something that doesn’t make you squirm or feel uncomfortable the moment you eat something! You can wear a statement silhouette that shows off your growing bump, or something like I wore here, where my bump is more hidden (unless I hold the dress to show it off). Either work great, depending on whichever you’re more comfortable with. Holiday Maternity Look_10

When it comes to choosing a shoe, don’t be afraid to also choose what is most comfortable. I definitely know that I could not conquer a holiday party with my 6 inch pumps, lugging my 36 week baby bump around without a major struggle – so opt for a shoe/boot that you ultimately can have on for more than 15 minutes! Trust me; you’ll enjoy yourself at the party much more!

My last piece of advice would be to choose something you’d normally gravitate towards – as in don’t go changing your personal style or taste just because you’re growing a little human. I think what has helped me stay confident during both of my pregnancies is sticking to my style and who I am, as well as finding pieces that still feel like “me” but work with my growing bump. Also, if you’re choosing a dress, definitely snag some maternity tights; you won’t regret it!

Happy holiday dressing! Xx

From Wendy

I love to serve up cozy non- alcoholic drinks specifically for the holiday season. My whole family enjoys these seasonal party favorites PLUS they make any holiday gathering more festive! Here are three of my favorite recipes along with some party outfit ideas perfect for the holidays.Cider-A

Hot Apple Cider – Garnished with cinnamon sticks, apple slices with cloves, star anise & fresh cranberries

Heat the apple cider and water mix; I like William Sonoma Cider Concentrate. Slice apples and cut a “V” in the bottom of the slice to fit snugly onto mugs. Be sure to slice thick enough for the clove application. Gently insert whole cloves on entire apple edge and place apple slice on edge of glass along with cinnamon stick.

Fill mug with Hot Apple Cider and add the star anise to float in the mug. For added color, you can place some fresh whole cranberries in the mug too. I love this touch of festive red cranberry floating with the natural star anise.sparkling-A

Sparkling Apple Cider – With a touch of cherry juice for color and topped with a strawberry and raspberry

Add a drop of cherry juice to the sparkling apple cider from a maraschino cherry jar. Garnish the glass edge with a strawberry and a raspberry. I like to add a few raspberries directly to the cider too, because they float to the bottom and make the presentation more special.hot-chocolate-A

Hot Chocolate – topped with a cocoa powder and cinnamon-blend tree

Top hot chocolate with frothed milk. I make the milk in my Breville frother and it comes out perfect every time! Then mix equal parts pure cocoa powder and cinnamon in a small metal baker’s sifter/shaker. Gently position your plastic tree stencil on the frothed milk and sprinkle until you have a full layer of the cocoa and cinnamon blend. Carefully lift the tree stencil off of the frothed milk.

Crush your candy canes in a soft cloth on a cutting board, pounding very gently with a meat tenderizer. Place them on the frothed milk around your tree stencil.

Sprinkle your saucer with the cocoa powder and cinnamon blend and then place the mug in the saucer. Last, sprinkle the crushed candy canes around the bottom of the mug and add cookies to the plate for a perfect finish!
