Hair Do: The Braided Bun

Perfect for mornings when your mane is looking (and acting) less than desirable, take a stab at the beauty world’s current must do: the braided bun. Easy enough to create on your own, this messy-chic style showcases the coveted “trying, but not trying too hard” appeal. Lacking the need to look perfect, and with an end-of-the-day bonus – hello, sexy tousled waves – Emily Schuman, creator of  the fabulous blog, Cupcakes & Cashmere, demonstrates the ins-and-outs of this polished-meets-relaxed look, here.

Four Things

Weekends are all about kicking back and taking a much needed breather. Whether you relax by running around town, meeting up with friends or simply curling up on the couch with a good book, hot drink and a comforting meal, we hope you enjoy every minute of it.

Breakfast in bed never tasted so good thanks to Oatmeal Pancakes with Maple-Glazed Roasted Apples.

There may not be a more fall-perfect maternity sweater – we love the cut, the color, the whole thing.

Put away that flat iron; a messy-chic low bun is just what the weekend calls for.

We’re reading the inspiring book, Words That Matter, because if Oprah tells you it’s a must-read, it is.

We had marinated tri-tip, grilled asparagus, and a salad with grilled nectarines, prosciutto, walnuts and champagne vinaigrette. What did you have for dinner? #glutenfree #againstallgrain @againstallgrain #DMtakeover My little guy doesn't love his veggies, but there's a few I know I can always get him to eat, so I make them often! Roasted asparagus is one of them. I trim the asparagus and toss it with a little olive oil, sea salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon and roast it in a 400 degree oven for 12-15 minutes. You can also throw it on the grill! #babybump #DMtakeover #againstallgrain @againstallgrain We're visiting family in the mountains and our outdoor plans are being postponed by a thunder and hail storm! So puzzles, coloring, board games, and Lego building are in order. Do any of you other pregnant mommas welcome lazy days like this? I know I do! The weather won't keep us from barbecuing the tri-tip that's been marinating later though! @againstallgrain #DMtakeover
