A Gift for Baby from Your Wedding Dress

jen

Meet Jen Bowers, the Divisional Merchandise Manager for A Pea in the Pod!  A stylish mama herself, she is in charge of the team of buyers that keeps our stores filled with trendy maternity pieces for mothers-to-be!

Instead of shopping for a special occasion dress for her daughter Kendall, Jen had the sweet idea of designing something special using fabric from her wedding dress. “My wedding dress was an all-over lace Monique Lhuillier gown.  I wanted to incorporate the lace from my dress so she had a piece of me on her special day.”

With creative and design expertise from Brittany West, A Pea in the Pod’s assistant designer, they created a beautiful dress for a beautiful girl!

We love the idea of repurposing your wedding dress for baby.  You could also make a beautiful bassinet skirt, a necklace with the fabric embedded in it, or turn your wedding dress into something smaller, like a pillow.  What great hand-me-down pieces for your baby!

Four Things

Spring is finally here and there are so many reasons to celebrate. It’s time to leave behind the soups, sweaters and scarves to engage in these FOUR season-changing favorites. Pull up your hair, hop into a dress and get creative in this season of growth.

EAT: A roasted banana boat is the perfect snack to satisfy cravings and stay healthy! Add in some walnuts for a dose of good-for-you omegas and dark chocolate chips for antioxidants. Haylie Duff and her sister Hilary sweeten up the warm, campfire snack with marshmallows- a welcome twist on the classic S’more.

WEAR: Nothing screams spring like a flirty little dress. Our Sleeveless Fit and Flare Maternity Dress with an empire waist and scoop neck will have you looking sweeter than jelly beans this holiday.

DO: As the temperatures go up, you may wish your hair does as well. These 6 Easy Braided Hair Styles will keep you cool and comfortable while staying on-trend.

CREATE: Like flowers in the spring, babies seem to boom and bloom around this season. Try something different for your next baby shower gift and create these adorable numbered baby bodysuits, or keep them for you and your baby!

Game On! Personalize Your Reveal

Sick of the same old gender reveal party ideas? You’re in luck! Miss Party Mom has some clever and crafty ways to spruce up the big reveal.

Share the fun!

Provide a fun game for guests to partake in. Let your friends and family come up with name suggestions for a boy or a girl and place their votes into a jar. This can also serve as a great keepsake item to display in the baby’s nursery.

Cast Your Vote!

Allow guests to vote on the baby’s gender, and then tally it up! Pick a fun prize to award the winning team.

The Big Reveal!

We absolutely love this idea: Have your party store put confetti into a matte, dark colored balloon. When it comes time to reveal, simply pop!
