This season, our Holiday Collection is a mix of luxe styles that are high on drama. From jewels to beading to lustrous fabrics rendered in sexy silhouettes primed to show off your shape, the A Pea in the Pod Design Team drew on all things glam for this season’s collection:

“For the holiday season, we focused on the Baroque period, a time known for exquisite detail and ornamentation. Through the use of lace, shine and luxurious fabrics in black, gold and a beautiful Bordeaux red, each style creates a perfect ensemble for holiday parties and events.”

Key pieces include a cozy cable knit maternity sweater in shimmering black lurex; fashion’s current “it” look, faux leather trim maternity leggings; and a party-perfect jersey knit embellished maternity dress.

Color Crush: Berry Red

Is there anything as spectacular as the site of luscious red roses? Deeply saturated yet full of vibrancy, we absolutely adore this berry-kissed shade, especially in the form of this gorgeous, party-ready sleeveless maternity dress by Velvet by Graham & Spencer!

Holiday Looks for Now & Later

Showing off our favorite dresses that can be worn now (while pregnant) and later (while not), two of our gorgeous in-house gals, Copywriter Leigh Calarco and Online Account Manager Michelle Scarpato, model three holiday-perfect looks for the season.

First up from Motherhood Maternity, the ubiquitous stripe trend in a black and gray combo takes center stage. Perfect for the office holiday party, the fitted silhouette of this Long Sleeve Slim Fit Maternity Dress by Jessica Simpson flawlessly accentuates Leigh’s bump thanks to the soft and stretchy material. Equally as flattering on Michelle, she frames her figure with a fitted Cascade Blazer while both add a warm layer of tights, on-trend booties and gold accessories.

Whether you’re expecting now or been there, done that, stay tuned for a glam approach to pre- and postnatal dressing – holiday edition!

Four Things

Now that fall is officially underway, we cannot wait to take in all the season has to offer. First, we’ll start off with a soul-comforting soup, and then perhaps we’ll move onto a fabulous dress (to pair with those amazing new booties). Add in a chicly-messy braid and an adorable DIY reason to stay in for a movie night and order takeout, and we’ll be happy, happy!

A piping hot bowl of sweet potato, sausage and kale soup is sure to chase away the autumn chill.

This convertible sleeve maternity dress is anxiously awaiting cozy tights, booties and a moto jacket – stat!

The perfect shower gift for a friend or loved one, these adorable hats made from old sweaters  are little slices of genius.

When a bad hair day falls upon you, your mane will beg to be styled in a fabulously messy braid.

Now & Later

maternity dress

Tis the season of transition dressing, and with that comes warm-weather pieces you can wear on their own now, and then layer for later. A Pea in the Pod Senior Designer, Elizabeth Shane Quinn, models Joie’s short sleeve shift maternity dress, which epitomizes “Now & Later” dressing; a simple swap of accessories has it holding its own in both hot and cold weather. For now, add a strappy heel with a bit of edge and statement bag, while later on calls for our belted maternity sweater, sheer tights and the must-have black bootie.

Transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall can seem like a challenge, but it’s actually quite fun. Mixing lighter pieces from the warm weather with cozier styles creates a fashion-forward mix that is to be envied. This short sleeve shirt-style dress is an all-year piece that is destined for many wears. The polished polka-dot print will look fab when paired with a blazer or denim jacket and black ankle booties. When the weather turns even cooler, add a pair of mama tights and a chic infinity scarf.
