As we prepare the turkey, decorate the house and welcome in loved ones from near and far, it’s so easy to forget the simple meaning behind Thanksgiving.
So, in honor of all the good things in our lives, we asked Destination Maternity employees what they’re most thankful for this season. From families to jobs to the simple things in life, it’s beautiful to see what our peers are most grateful for this season.

Sick of the same old gender reveal party ideas? You’re in luck! Miss Party Mom has some clever and crafty ways to spruce up the big reveal.
Share the fun!
Provide a fun game for guests to partake in. Let your friends and family come up with name suggestions for a boy or a girl and place their votes into a jar. This can also serve as a great keepsake item to display in the baby’s nursery.
Cast Your Vote!
Allow guests to vote on the baby’s gender, and then tally it up! Pick a fun prize to award the winning team.
The Big Reveal!
We absolutely love this idea: Have your party store put confetti into a matte, dark colored balloon. When it comes time to reveal, simply pop!

Meet Victoria: Our Technical Design Assistant for Motherhood Maternity! Victoria graciously allowed us to take a peek inside her super-adorable baby shower and told us a little bit about the process:
Q: Tell us about your shower outfit! What did you love most about it?
A: I didn’t want to wear anything too dressy as my shower was a pretty laid back event. But, I did want something that was interesting and would stand out as it was still a very special occasion for my family and me. I went with this colorful crochet tunic and white skinny jeans from Motherhood Maternity because I thought the outfit was both casual and eye catching at the same time. I loved the cut of the tunic paired with the rope belt, which flattered my ever-growing bump.
Q: How did you decide on your location and theme? Who helped to plan the shower?
A: I really wanted a laid back, co-ed shower so all our close friends and family could be together in a relaxed atmosphere. My sister- in-law, Maegan and two good friends of mine, Megan and Anna, planned everything.
We decided an outdoor BBQ would be perfect for this. The girls picked the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education as the location because it had a nice outdoor area, was still in the city, but felt like it was in the countryside, and we could bring our own food and drink.
There wasn’t really a set theme – the girls incorporated red and white checks into some of the décor to give it a picnic feel, and the favors were sweets and candies from the UK, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia to represent Mine, Brad’s and baby’s home towns.
Q: What was the most memorable gift you received?
A: We received loads of gorgeous things – everyone was so kind! My most memorable gift though was a Baby mix CD our friends Patti and Harry made us with a compilation of British and American music with songs somewhat baby related. It was really thoughtful!

Many memories of childhood come to mind at the mention of these classic stories. Although there are numerous titles that we adore, these are a few of our favorite books to read to the family. Whether reading to your bump, your baby or school-aged children, the words on the pages will stay with them forever. Which one is your favorite? Tell us!
