Four Things

The official summer season has come to a close, and with that, fall-favorite activities are revving up. While the weather is still gorgeous outside, our week is spent looking forward to Saturdays when we can explore a new place, cook up a storm, experiment with our look and take some time to do some projects around the house. Whatever your plans are for this weekend, these Four Things are our current inspirations.

  1. An apple-cranberry crisp is the perfect thing to make with all of those freshly-picked apples.
  2. Chase the chill in a maternity sweater that blooms bright.
  3. Perfect the bun with easy styling tips that will give you a chic chignon or a trendy top knot.
  4. Customize the nursery for your little one an adorable name sign.

Easy Hairstyles for Expecting Moms

One word every expectant (or new) mom wants to hear is, easy! And when it comes to hair, this is as true as ever. Take a look at these sophisticated yet simple-to-do hairstyles that will have you out the door in no time.

The easiest style of all, the ponytail is always a go-to! Tie up your tresses with a simple band that matches your hair color. Leave it at that, or add some volume by curling the strands of your pony for a night out or special event.

Buns are back and here to stay! To achieve this gorg style, put your hair into a low ponytail and secure with a band. Starting from the nape of your neck, twist your pony down to the ends; keeping the twist intact, wrap it around the hairband in a circular motion until you have formed your bun. Secure the bun with bobby pins to keep it steady.

One of the simplest ways to add some instant style a braid or two! Leaving your hair down, braid a one-inch section of your hair on either side of your part; pull each braid back so they meet in the center of the back of your head. Finally, secure the ends with bobby pins for a look that’s boho-beautiful.

When in doubt, try some texture! Many hair care brands carry texturizing sprays that help to create those beachy waves that celebrities wear so well. To glow like Kate, while your hair is damp, apply a liberal amount of spray from root to tip, and then flip your hair over. Using your fingers and a diffuser hairdryer attachment, gently blow-dry your hair. When dry, flip your hair right side up and instant waves will be upon you!

Our nursery is almost ready for our little lady but we still have some work to do! The gallery wall is my favorite! I'll be sharing the full tour soon on @GlitterGuide! @stylewithinreach #APIPtakeover Planning outfits for an upcoming shoot for my blog -- these Joe's Jeans from @apeainthepodmaternity are my favorite maternity jeans and I can't wait for it to be warm enough to wear this eyelet top! @stylewithinreach #APIPtakeover I try to always keep our house full of fresh blooms and sneak out to Whole Foods for a lunch break at least once a week to pick them up. @stylewithinreach #APIPtakeover I try to start my day by 6:30am since I've found myself to be most productive before 3pm in my third trimester -- this allows me to get through the most difficult and time consuming tasks before my energy gets zapped!
