Chic sweatshirts are hot for fall, but they aren’t the bulky, college logoed, gym kind.  These are embellished, printed, leather detailed & crafted from luxe fabrics. These are the new fashion-forward sweatshirts that add a polished appeal to any look. Designed with the bump in mind, these sweats are great before and after baby.  Dress them up; dress them down- they’re the versatile piece for mamas that I love. -Olivia

Style File: Get Stacy Keibler’s Mom-to-Be Style

Guest blogger: Style Director Olivia Capone Myers

Stacy Keibler’s style is pretty fabulous and her maternity looks have been no exception. A fan of A Pea in the Pod, Stacy has been spotted wearing our collection everywhere in LA, from running errands to nights out on the town, and I love how she pulls together each of her outfits. Here’s the scoop on the pieces she’s worn so you can recreate some of her best looks.

1. This is a great outfit for a weekend shopping outing. The Ella Moss Maternity Striped Tank really accentuates Stacy’s bump and looks great paired with our 7 for All Mankind Secret Fit Belly Slim Leg Maternity Jeans. The rolled cuff and studded sandals totally complete this casual, but chic, look.

2. Stacy keeps cool in a white ensemble that is perfect for summer. Styled with a great hat, shades and booties, she turns this outfit into a fashion must. Get a similar look with A Pea in the Pod’s Short Sleeve Patterned Stitch Maternity Dress.

3. Denim on denim is one of the hottest trends of the season and here Stacy nails it in a really feminine way in an A Pea in the Pod Maternity Chambray Shirt and 7 for All Mankind Maternity Jean Shorts. The long necklace, oversized bag and studded sandals give this super-fem look a hint of edge.

Get Grilling!

Having a Father’s Day barbeque this weekend? Here’s an appetizer you can throw on the grill & feel good about eating. Delish.com gives you another way to prepare seasonal vegetables like red peppers & eggplant, plus some delicious feta cheese for a flavorful kick.

All you need is the following:

  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 8 slice(s) eggplant, 1/2-inch thick
  • 3 tablespoon(s) olive oil, plus more, for grilling
  • 1 tablespoon(s) red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon(s) fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1/2 cup(s) crumbled feta
  • Salt and pepper

If your grill is already hot from burgers & hot dogs, you are good to go. If not, then preheat the grill, coat your cut vegetables with olive oil, cook them until tender or you see some grill marks, & finally arrange on a platter. Then simply sprinkle them with 3 tablespoons olive oil, and red wine vinegar; add oregano and feta. Lastly, season to taste with salt and pepper.

It is no secret that vegetables are filled with valuable nutrition benefits for everyone, but especially for pregnant women! The grilling takes these vegetables to richer level. Grill, serve & enjoy!

A Wardrobe of White

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

White has many different connotations- pure, clean, bright. Then there is that statement, “white hot.” What does it all mean when trying to add white into your wardrobe? You have probably heard the rule about not wearing white after Labor Day. It is crazy to think that so much time is dedicated to this color, that some argue is only a shade.

Well, call us crazy, because we are about to dedicate a little more time to the color that crisps up any outfit, lightens any look & potentially just may be the chicest shade.

White acts a canvas for you to style with jewelry, belts, scarves and other colored accessories. Take a basic white dress, which alone looks summery & sleek, now add a nude bag, gladiator sandals & brown sun glasses- you are the epitome of a Grecian Goddess. Or, pop on some yellow high heels, a pink purse & green bangles for a look that is sure to draw attention & compliments. White makes color pop.

White is known as the summer staple because unlike it’s opposite, black, it actually reflects the sun & thus the heat. Throw on white shorts to keep your legs looking cool or a white cover-up over your bathing suit to keep the baby bump protected.

The white-on-white trend is the classiest fashion statement since, well, black-on-black. The difference? It is uniform, but also unexpected. It is the most mod, mommy-in-the-making monochromatic look!

The plain white-tee has become a cult classic at this point, & white sweaters, summer sweatshirts, blouses & tanks are following suit. White is the look of the season- there is no doubt about that & no question that white will always look pure, clean & bright.
