I’m not your typical matchy-matchy mama, but I do love to show my holiday spirt by dressing for a festive weekend. I’m seeing star motifs everywhere this summer and since they are a chic nod to Independence Day, I think they are completely apropos. We usually watch fireworks on the 4th in Philadelphia or at the Jersey shore after attending a BBQ or two, so it’s easy for me to work in some stars and stripes. Here’s a little outfit inspo for your own holiday weekend, including a look for your mini! What are your plans for the 4th? -Olivia

I hope you are all enjoying the day celebrating Father’s Day with the men in your life! Did you know today is also summer solstice? The summer season can be both a blessing and a curse for the mom-to-be! The warmer weather lends itself to breezy dresses and open-toe sandals, BUT with the rising temperatures, beating the heat can also be challenging! I was in my last trimester during the summer of 2013 and not only was my bump at its biggest, but I had a terrible case of edema. I lived in lightweight jersey maternity essentials and lots of layering pieces. Shorts, breezy skirts and maxi dresses were my go-to and for good reason: they were uber comfortable and easy to accessorize! Read on for some of my favorite looks that will keep you looking great and feeling cool this summer.THE MAXI: A jersey maxi dress is the perfect summer maternity essential. It’s lightweight and versatile enough to be styled up or down. Throw on a linen jacket and slides to create a totally chic weekend look. While having a few fun maxis in your wardrobe is smart, I always suggest adding at least one version that is in a simple silhouette and neutral color. Grey, navy or black can be worn so many ways and will give you tons of style mileage this summer.THE SOFT SHORT: Another warm weather must-have! Go with a classic jean short but also invest in a soft cotton short; just keep in mind the fabric should be lightweight and even have a little stretch. A short can always be paired with a tee or opt for a peasant top. Add a heel or espadrille for a more polished look. The combination is perfect for a summer party or even date night. THE KNIT SKIRT: How great is this updated maxi skirt? With a chic side slit (that’s not too high,) you have an effortless look that does double duty depending on how you accessorize. With a metallic wedge, simple stripe dolman tee and fedora, you have a city-chic look perfect for a summer night. Style TIP: For a leg lengthening look, opt for a side-ruched tee that contours to your bump. For an easier more bohemian take, pair a maxi skirt with a fitted tank and unbuttoned shirt.THE SUMMER SHEATH: Wondering what to wear to the office this summer? The sheath dress is a fabulous option and can be worn from desk to dinner. PLUS, a great black and white graphic print seamlessly transitions into fall by updating your accessories and adding a blazer.

Swim suit shopping is in full swing now that summer is truly approaching! I have already begun my quest for a new suit and have helped several preggonistas at my last few style sessions!
Tankinis are universally flattering for moms-to-be and my favorite this season is an embossed version from A Pea in the Pod! The side ruching and plunging neckline keeps the suit fun and flirty not frumpy!
A bright solid color, stripe or even a print keeps a tankini or one piece suit looking fresh and modern. Fun accessories like a caftan cover-up, straw tote, floppy hat, cute sandal and poolside clutch always take a look to the next level! I know it always gives me an extra boost of confidence, so I highly suggest accessorizing before heading to the pool! -Olivia

The summer grants many opportunities for outside parties & dining al fresco. People are also more apt to walk places, get some sun & explore nature. Dresses are easy outfits, because they are ready to throw on, go out & look completely put together. However, many dresses are too frilly, too restricting & actually just a little too dressy. Enter our sleeveless a-line dress, the one that will take you to that backyard party, to dinner under the stars, to a spontaneous walk to the farmer’s market on a Sunday afternoon.
This dress has a geometric print that makes people take notice without screaming, “Look at me!” The white with grey combo combines for effortless style. The spaghetti straps keep you cool & provide you with the ability to throw on a cardigan, scarf or little jacket when the sun goes down.
The length, which falls just above the knee, is the most versatile since you have the option to dress it up with heels, wedges & even platforms. But because it isn’t too short or too long, flats, sandals & flip flops give this a summery edge.
Let your hair down to frame the v-neck or throw your hair in a messy bun to showcase the back-interest keyhole design. This dress makes sure you look good coming or going.
You are constantly craving the look that works for every day & in every way. This dress is our MOST CRAVED & now your clothing crush!
