What college do you attend and what is your major?

I am a junior at Drexel University majoring in Design and Merchandising.

What is your position here at Destination Maternity? What are your daily tasks

I work as a Merchandising Intern in the Motherhood Maternity department for sweaters, dresses and knits. On a typical day, I pull samples for meetings, place orders to vendors, create and update styles of clothing and other miscellaneous tasks. I have also recently taken on assisting a research project that will add another sector to the company and hopefully escalate our Motherhood sales in the future!

What are the best parts about working at Destination Maternity?

While in class, I have been able to utilize the skills I have learned as a result of my hands on experience with buying. The work environment is welcoming and always willing to teach me new things. I enjoy being able to see the products that have yet to hit stores. I have also been lucky enough to help with a variety of different departments including accessories, nursing, sleepwear and bottoms.

What is your go-to item in your closet?

My go-to item would probably be my black maxi skirt. It is easy, versatile and comfortable!

Intern to Employee: Meet Kristen!

What college do you attend and what is your major?

I’m a recent Penn State graduate with a degree in Psychology.

What is your position here at Destination Maternity? What are your daily tasks?

I began here at Destination Maternity as the visual intern while I was finishing up my degree program, and have stayed on post-graduation within the visual department as an independent contractor. My daily tasks vary from week to week. Some weeks I work in the stores or in the on-site mock-up store helping the visual team assemble the monthly floor sets for Motherhood Maternity and our Leased locations. During other weeks, I work in the office putting together floor set documents to send out to the field as well as also working on various projects for the visual department.

What are the best parts about working at Destination Maternity?

There are a lot of wonderful things about working here. It has been incredibly eye-opening to see how much time, effort and attention to detail goes into putting together visually interesting floor set displays. Furthermore, the change of pace between working in store and in the office as well as the constant addition of new product for us to display, ensures there is never a dull moment working. I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do, and the things that I’ve learned from all of my team members about working in this field are invaluable.

What is your go-to item in your closet?

I have a pair of beige wedges that I wear at least two to three times a week because they’re adorable, comfortable and go with literally every article of clothing I own. I’ve since bought two back-up pairs for when they get too worn out because I don’t know what I would do without them!

What college do you attend and what is your major?

I am a junior at Drexel University, majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing.

What is your position and what are your daily tasks here at Destination Maternity?

I work in the Marketing department at Destination Maternity as a Public Relations intern. My daily tasks change from day to day, but some of the things I do include: managing press inquiries, working with buyers to pull samples to send to fashion publications and bloggers and  planning and executing  in-store events. I also help research ideas and content for social media as well as compile press recaps for our top press of the week.

What are the best parts about working at Destination Maternity?

My favorite part about working at Destination Maternity is being able to plan and work different in-store events. Party-planning has always been an interest of mine and being a part of creating one is exciting. I also love seeing our products featured in press publications such as US Weekly, People, and Pregnancy and Newborn.

What is your go-to item in your closet?

I recently bought a pair of mint color skinny jeans and a mint color button-up blouse. I thought they both added a pop of color to my wardrobe and I can’t wait to rock them once the weather warms up!
