Last week, blogger and New York City mama Staci Acquasanta of Leather & Leops shared her must-haves for other metropolitan moms. I thought today I would share my picks for the suburban mom like me! Living in a small town in Southern New Jersey means having the best of both worlds; I get to enjoy the benefits of living in close proximity to both Philly and New York, but I also enjoy the quiet and community of my hometown. My family often makes weekend trips ranging from the local farmer’s market, to the beach, to the Philadelphia Zoo so my list is compiled of functional, sleek and stylish items that help us get to where we need to go and much more! Would love to hear about your picks in the comments below.- OliviaCar Seat: Britax B-Safe– I am constantly in the car and on-the-go in the burbs! I wanted an infant car seat that was safe, light and easy to use. It installs in a snap and can be easily taken in and out of the car, which is important since my husband also uses this seat in his car.
High Chair: Keekaroo Height Right– I searched and searched for a high chair that would fit with the decor in my eat-in kitchen and then I fell in love with this one! I decided that I did not want something that folded away, so the way it looked was important. I chose this espresso-wood highchair because it looks great and is durable. It’s also very easy to clean and will grow with my son, which is a bonus!
Glider: Graco Gliding Swing– This was a last minute splurge after we brought our fussy newborn home from the hospital; luckily, it was one of my best purchases! As far as bouncy seats go, it’s on the larger side. But since it glides, swings AND bounces… Greyson loved it! The seat is removable and it was great to keep Grey with me throughout my house. If you have the space, definitely go with this one!
Stroller: UPPAbaby Vista– On the suggestion of a friend, I invested in this versatile and sleek stroller. It comes with a bassinet and a toddler seat, plus it can transport up to three children with additional attachments— perfect for a growing family. Since we take lots of walks through our neighborhood and to the park, I love that it has a smooth stroll and the tires don’t lock up, even on grass and turf.
Diaper Bag: The Honest Carryall Satchel– This diaper bag is one of my favorites of all time! It’s super chic, has lots of secret pockets and doesn’t look like a traditional diaper bag. The changing pad has a zippered pocket to keep wipes and other diapering essentials, plus the lining is wipe-able so it’s easy to clean!
