When I started The Potty Chronicles series last month, I really thought we were in the ball park of potty training; unfortunately, my toddler’s willingness to participate has been fleeting. In an attempt at peeking Grey’s interest in using the potty, I tried a few things. First, I abandoned the basic toddler potty that coordinated with my bathroom (the horror!) and opted for one with all the bells and whistles, the Fisher Price Learn-to-Flush Potty. It sings a song, makes a flushing sound… you get the jist. I also bought these Piddlers Toilet Targets at my local Buy Buy Baby during a recent visit in the hopes he’d like taking aim in the potty. Neither has really gotten him interested enough to prompt him to ditch the diaper and use the potty just yet. Since he’s still only a few months into his second birthday, I think I’ll continue trying without pushing him too hard. Wish me luck!
How long did it take you to potty train your toddler? -Olivia
It is never easy but you have to keep trying. 🙂 Step by step…
Thanks Joanna! We are just starting and taking it slow:)
Please give Splashy the Splashdown Trainer a try. I bet he likes it.
I will definitely give it a try! Thanks for the recommendation Eric!
