Halloween is especially fun when you have little ones but it can also be quite stressful! From finding the right costume to sugar-induced tantrums, Halloween can spook any mama out! Here are a few tips that I am keeping in mind to make sure our holiday feels like less of a trick and more of a treat!
I’m all about styling Grey in your not-so-average duds and love getting behind a sewing machine but at two years old, he doesn’t really need a handmade costume and I don’t need the added stress! Instead, I found several and equally fun off-the-rack costumes for him (Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest!) and he has loved playing in them all!Halloween also means candy. Since I am not keen on loading up Grey on sugar, I’ve started picking up healthier alternatives (Annie’s Halloween Bunny Grahams and Bitsy’s Brainfood Halloween Smart Cookies) as well as Halloween themed books, crafts, and games to get us just as into the spirit. Since this year is the first time my husband and I will actually be going trick-or-treating with Greyson, we decided we’ll be visiting only a few neighbors so as not to overload him on sweets or overwhelm him in general. The books and activities will come in handy as well once we’ve settled on the porch to await Trick or Treaters.
Do you have any special tips for keeping Halloween with your little ones as stress-free as possible? I’d love to hear! –Olivia
