I’m all about simple yet chic holiday décor, especially now that I’m a mom myself and have so little time! With Halloween approaching, I enlisted the help of Wendy Bellissimo, designer behind her namesake maternity collection, to share some tips on decorating for Halloween made simple.

As a designer and mom of four I am completely in love with holidays and the tradition of them all! For our family, Halloween kicks off a 6 month run of non-stop decorating. Here are some of my secrets for starting the season off in a fun and festive way:
First, I use bales of hay to create a festive look and to build different layers and heights for decorations. Hay bales transition perfectly to Thanksgiving décor, so you can get two holidays out of them. Spider webs are another perfect Halloween touch. You can turn a wood pile into Halloween décor like I did here by covering it with webs and adding giant spiders.

Next, to add some interest, layer in different colored pumpkins in varied sizes. You can never have too many pumpkins for Halloween!

Don’t forget the twinkle lights in orange or white to go around the hay bales and wood piles or simply wrap them around your decorations. Once Halloween is almost here, we carve the jack-o-lanterns and light them all up on the front steps. Sometimes the battery operated candles work out best for that.

For the big day try our Bellissimo Original and yummy Halloween Party “Brain” Dip. It’s delicious and the kids will love it.
Hope you all have a Happy Halloween! Love, Wendy
