Flu and cold season is upon us and don’t you know, Greyson and I already got the bug! As the ol’ saying goes, moms don’t ever really get a sick day. But when BOTH Grey and I started with the sniffles I had no choice but to put most of the usual day-to-day on hold. Read along for how our day went!
Luckily, I was prepared. I always keep our medicine cabinet stocked with Tylenol, thermometers and bath salts for peace of mind. It totally saved me a trip to the pharmacy. Since I travel for work, I’ve also gotten used to stock piling necessities for my hubs so things run smoothly when I’m away. This tactic also helps on sick days when we need plenty of tissues and quick and easy sick-day snacks on hand like Annie’s organic soups and mac-n-cheese, Grey’s favorites and usually only served as treats when mommy is away.
I usually hesitate to ask for help, as I’m sure a lot of mamas do, but on a sick day, I need dinner-duty off of my plate! My own mom stopped in to bring us dinner and it was a huge help!
Here’s hoping you and your family stay healthy this winter! Definitely stock your medicine drawer and pantry now. And don’t be afraid to ask for help since even the little things go a long way when you are home with a cold and a sick baby. -Olivia
