NEW TO NURSING? CHECK THIS LIST

Top 10 Tips Nursing Edition

Our friends at Parents compiled a list of 6 Breastfeeding Tips for Your Hospital Stay with help from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the La Leche League.  We love being on your pregnancy journey and want to continue with you into motherhood; it is our name after all! They say the key is getting baby feeding as quickly as possible. We wanted to round the list out with 4 of our own suggestions. So, enjoy these 10 tips before baby comes. And, click here for the full article and more information.

  1. “Put baby to your breast right after birth.”
  2. “Try nursing approximately every two hours, or whenever your baby cries.”
  3. “Enlist the help of a nurse or lactation consultant to ‘spot’ you each time you feed.”
  4. “Take a breastfeeding class if it is offered.”
  5. “Don’t accept formula if you want to breastfeed exclusively.”
  6. “Go home with the phone number of someone you can call for help.”
  7. Invest in a really good and easy to use nursing bra.
  8. Utilize your pregnancy pillow, like The Snoogle, for comfort and positioning when home with baby.
  9. Soothe your skin with help from our nipple creams and breast/belly balms.
  10. Make your transition to work (or the world!) easier with nursing clothing designed for new moms who breastfeed or pump.
