BUMP SHOT SERIES: HOW TO BRING IT ALL TO LIFE

MH BumpSeries Part4 Blog v2

Have you been following our Bump Shot Series? We covered expert tips from our photographer, how to style your shoot, how to style yourself and now the time has come to use all the inspiration to get creative. This is how to bring it all to life!

1. Style for the Season

The time of year can inspire your props, setting and outfit choice. You can use the season’s holidays as a theme, or make it easy on yourself by getting graphic! Shop our holiday maternity tees, official NFL and MLB sport team maternity tees or our everyday outspoken styles!

2. Stick with a Silhouette

The classic silhouette shot can be done all year long, which makes it a great choice for seeing bump progression. Make sure you test lighting and time of day when prepping for this picture, so you know exactly when to capture the perfect mood. Keep it simple in one of our nightgown and robe sets, which will grow with you for all nine months’ worth of images.

3. Think Outside the Box

Personalize with props, play around with camera angles, or put the baby belly on full display. You don’t always need to be standing holding your bump. You can sit, stretch out comfy in your pajamas, add in some cravings of the week… just make it personal and fun.

4. Capture Memories and Moments

You may not be a first-time mama, which makes taking the perfect bump shot even more exciting. Get your family involved. Showcase real moments at home. Allow yourself and your life to be the ultimate inspiration behind the best bump photo. Try a simple LBD like the one shown, because it’s classic and beautiful, without taking away from the scene. Or, go with whatever look you love and feel comfortable in; just have some fun with it.

As always, #thisisgoingtobefun and tag @motherhoodmaternity to show us your bump shot!
