Mother’s Day is definitely one of my favorite holidays— I love any excuse for family time and basking in the love of my boys. A perfect Mother’s Day for me would be waking up to morning snuggles, followed by a family brunch, a walk on the beach, or a leisurely stroll to the park or farmers’ market.

This Elbow Sleeve Paisley Print dress is the perfect dress for Mother’s Day. The flowing caftan style is the perfect silhouette to make you feel dressed up for the occasion but appropriately casual for any daytime activity. Simply throw your hair in a top knot, pair with a great pair of strappy sandals and you’re instantly ready to spend the day being showered with love. Whether you’re taking a family walk, enjoying a lunch or dinner out, or simply savoring your family time at home, achieve that effortless take on glamour while you enjoy every precious moment of the day.

Rachel Zoe’s Spring Picks For Mom-To-Be

Her latest collection exclusively for A Pea in the Pod has just arrived in stores so we asked designer, editor, style icon and mom of two, Rachel Zoe, for her tips on spring dressing. Read along for the items she can’t live without and head online to shop the newest styles.

I’m so excited that spring is finally here!  It’s that time of year for flowing, feminine, comfortable silhouettes that are perfect for warmer temperatures and transitional dressing.

As someone who lives in maxi dresses, I naturally incorporate various silhouettes into my collection. One of my favorites this season is this effortlessly glamorous off the shoulder style. Styled with slides or wedges, this dress is comfortable enough to wear all day long.  Transition your look into evening by throwing on a leather jacket over your shoulders, putting on a gorgeous pair of gold earrings and you’re instantly ready for dinner.

As much as I love an everyday maxi, it’s just as important to have a pair of black leggings in your wardrobe lineup. You can literally style these with anything from a tunic top to an off-the-shoulder blouse. Throw your hair into a messy topknot and add a glamorous bracelet for a look that instantly takes you from day to night.

Rachel Zoe’s Resolutions for a Stylish 2016

Guest Editor: Rachel Zoe, Stylist, Editor and Designer

With Award season under way and Fashion Week not too far off, the first few months of the New Year for style icon and mom of two, Rachel Zoe, can get quite busy. She shares with us her favorite down-time activities and the resolutions she plans to keep no matter how packed her schedule. Read along to see why you should do the same to have one stylish 2016.

From Rachel:

I can’t help but live by my own rule of always taking an extra 5 minutes to do something that makes you feel better about yourself before taking on your day (or night!).  Whether it’s adding a lip or putting on a coat of mascara, I think 2016 should be the year when you do the same.  A few of my suggestions to take control that effortlessly elevate your style:

RZ BLOG

A little black dress is something every woman should have in her style arsenal and the simplest silhouette to transition from day to night.  Trade in your flats for a heeled bootie and yours with a bold lip for an effortlessly glamorous look in the New Year.

Adding a coat of mascara is one of the simplest steps for a fresh-faced look. In less than minutes, you can look and feel better.

I always want to spend more time with my 2 sons…I can’t get enough of them! All the time, particularly in the New Year when work can get a little overwhelming, I like to carve time out to cook and bake with my boys.

It’s that time of year when your calendar is booked with every sort of holiday festivity. With everything from dinner parties and work events, to your own at-home holiday soirees, you’ll want to have an arsenal of outfits and entertainment tips to get you through the season! I’m sharing a little guidance to effortlessly looking your best and taking on the season with ease and confidence.

It’s no secret that every woman should have at least one little black dress in her closet. Personally, I think you should have at least 2 – one short and one long, so you can go for a little or a lot of glamour, depending on your mood and the event. I love these two options! The maxi dress gives you tons of drama with its double side slits, while the beaded collar mini is playful yet chic. Make your look last through the holiday season by swapping out your accessories for each event – a metallic pump and jewel tone clutch for one occasion, and statement ring and faux fur shrug for another.Rachel Zoe tablescape

When hosting your own holiday fetè, impress your guests (and actually enjoy their company) by creating a menu that’s best served at room temperature. This way you won’t be stuck over the stove missing out on the glamorous evening that you’ve prepared for all of your friends! Joan’s on Third is my favorite gourmet market, and my go-to for beautiful appetizers (among other things).  Large wedges of cheese, rosemary crackers, assorted nuts and dried figs always make for an effortless, yet gorgeous, display of small bites that your guests will love.

As a mom who’s constantly on the go, time-saving techniques are essential, especially during the holiday season! With so many events to attend with little time to prep, I asked the ultimate style maven, Rachel Zoe, for her secrets to taking a look from the office to after-hours in no time flat!Rachel-Zoe-Job-Interview-600x600

From Rachel

Taking your look from desk to dinner doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Whether it’s an elegant clutch, the perfect pair of pumps, an edgy biker jacket or a bold red lip and topknot, you can effortlessly elevate your look without having to completely overhaul your original outfit. It’s simple with just a few tips!

Give your basic blouse and tailored trousers an edgy update by adding interesting outerwear. Simply tie your hair up in a topknot and throw a black biker jacket, faux fur shrug or feather vest over your shoulders.

Sometimes all you need is a bold lip, smoky eye and a piece of statement jewelry to feel confident and ready for a night out. Find the shade of red that’s right for you, an eye-shadow palette you can keep in your handbag and dust off your favorite pendant necklace or cocktail ring.

I also suggest keeping a sleek pair of pumps or heeled booties at your desk so you can swap out your sophisticated loafers in a pinch. Whether you prefer a classic or playful style, you’ll feel instantly sexy and not to mention, tall, without any effort at all.

Behind the Scenes @NYFW with Rachel Zoe

Zoe’s Spring 2016 Collection is a modern take on the romantic gypset.  The glamour of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s comes through via hand-frayed edges, exaggerated ruffles and off-the-shoulder lace. Inspired by some of the great supermodels of that time period – Gia Carangi, Lauren Hutton and Jerry Hall – Rachel created a collection that lends itself to the cultural nomads, which are the busy, sophisticated women of today. Romantic, classic and subtly sexy, this collection is meant to inspire women to live boldly and have fun with style.

From Rachel:

I always tell women, no matter how busy your day is, take an extra 5 minutes when getting ready to make yourself feel glamorous.  Looking and feeling your best can be as easy as putting on a coat of mascara, adding a little lipstick or simply layering a bold accessory into your look.  Keep your overall outfit effortless and chic – a black maxi dress is always good place to start.

Invest in a hat that you love, a bold necklace that makes a statement, or a cozy scarf to tie your look all together. I live in tall platform heels, but they aren’t for every woman. If you’re looking for a little height, opt for a block heeled bootie instead – you’ll be stable on your feet yet still get those extra inches you weren’t exactly born with!  Here are some of my favorite fall pieces for a mom-to-be and their kids:

Rachel Zoe’s Vacation Essentials

Guest Editor: Rachel Zoe, Stylist, Editor and Designer

Whether it’s a parents-only weekend trip to Positano or a family excursion to The Hamptons, Rachel Zoe travels in style and clearly knows how to pack. She shared her list of vacation essentials for the mom-to-be with us exclusively so keep reading!

Photo: Instagram / @rachelzoe

From Rachel:

For me, summer is synonymous with the beach – Malibu, The Hamptons, St. Barths.  Some of my favorite memories are from the Hamptons with my family; we go to local farm stands for organic produce. My husband and I like to dine at Tutto Il Giorno in Sag Harbor and The Palm in East Hampton. Plus, we have evening bonfires with friends on the most beautiful beaches.  It’s a home away from home for us and I love watching my boys grow up there. I pack all my must-haves when traveling, but easy styles were my go-to when pregnant. So, here are some of my vacation essentials for a mom-to-be:RachelZoe_SummerHigh to Low Maternity Dress: When it comes to personal style, everything has to have an effortless glamour about it.  I always want to be comfortable…never wearing anything too fitted, so I can move around with my kids.  I think that’s why every woman, pregnant or not, should have a dress like the printed high-low maternity dress from my A Pea in the Pod summer collection.  It needs nothing more than a pair of ankle-wrap flat sandals, sunnies for daytime and a little denim jacket for a warm summer night.

Ruched Maternity Maxi Dress: It’s no secret that every woman needs a little black dress in her wardrobe.  Whether you prefer mini, midi or maxi, embrace your bump and show off your figure in a dress that is ruched at the waist.  With its open neck and tassel detail, this dress is effortlessly elegant all on its own.  Complete your ensemble for the perfect date night by adding a pair of block-heeled sandals and leather biker jacket.

Secret Fit Belly Zip Maternity Jeans: Stretch indigo denim is timeless and transitions seamlessly from season to season.  Being a mom means juggling a million and one things at once, so versatility is key.  For everyday casual cool, pair them with flat loafers, a white tee and a tailored blazer; they are the perfect accessories for daytime around town.  For a bit of bohemian glamour, opt for an airy tunic, long pendant necklace and metallic sandals to give your otherwise casual denim a punch of free-spirited edge.
