Inside Alicia’s Registry: Top Picks for the 1st Time Mom

DPP_0207One of our own, Alicia, is expecting later this summer and we’ve asked her to share her registry must haves as a first-time mom. Have you used any of these items? Alicia and I would love to know what you think! Share your comments and the must-have items on your registry below! –OliviaAlicia's Registry WE3Stroller:  BOB Revolution Flex Stroller

My stroller checklist is pretty simple: safe, comfortable, lightweight and foldable! That way, it can go in and out of the car, plus is easy to jog and run with. I settled on the BOB Revolution Stroller, as it hits all of my must haves. It doesn’t hurt that is has a lot of cool, techy features too!

Baby Carrier: ERGObaby 360 Carrier

I plan to be a mom-on-the-go, so I looked for a carrier with different holding positions (this one has 4,) one that has comfort and size customization for both me and the baby. I think it will be perfect for when my little one wants to be snug and held, but I need to be hands free.

Nursing Pillow: The Honest Company Nursing Pillow or The Boppy

A nursing pillow is great for all moms – nursing or not! It’s not only awesome for supporting your baby while breastfeeding, but also great for tummy time, learning to sit up and to help prop them up for the perfect photo. I plan on using the heck out of this thing!

Décor: Babyprints Deluxe Wall Frame

Babies change so much in their first year and I plan on capturing every cute moment! A photo frame is a special way to display the memories.  I also love a good photo-op and these age blocks are an awesome prop while documenting my growing babe.

Swaddles & Sleepsacks: Aden + Anais Muslin Swaddle BlanketHalo Sleepsack

Swaddles are an awesome multi-use item.  The tight swaddles and sleepsacks are perfect for keeping baby cozy, hopefully resulting in a lot of sweet slumber (for the baby’s sake and mine!) And since I plan on nursing, they will make great covers and oversized burp cloths for a little boob and puke protection.

Diaper Bag: Honest Carryall Diaper Bag

A chic diaper bag is a must! I’m seriously craving this Honest Diaper bag; it’s super stylish yet functional. It has stroller hook options, a changing pad and tons of easy access pockets inside for keeping the craziness organized.

Mommy Must-Have: The Honest CarryAll Satchel

liv liv2The Honest Company_2015-05-11_13-53-53Did you know that we now carry The Honest Carryall Satchel? As a mom who is always on the go, having to switch back and forth between a handbag, work tote and a diaper bag throughout the week was a huge source of frustration for me… that is until I test drove the Satchel last week. With convenient pockets on the outside for easy and quick access to the essentials like my keys, wallet and my son Grey’s snacks, and tons of hidden storage inside, it’s been so much easier to stay organized. Because it looks great, too, and features gold hardware, my go-to accent color, I’ve been using it for work and weekends. I love it so much I plan to use it even after Grey is out of diapers! –Olivia

Diaper Bags Your Friends Will Envy

DiaperBag_1-608x398 DiaperBag_2-608x990Even though you’ll be lugging diapers, there’s no reason you can’t do so in style! You’ll need a bag that is chic yet durable, and has lots of room and compartments.  Here are a few of my favorites that I think are well worth the investment. You’ll notice a theme in the colors but with this bag getting so much mileage, you will want a dark color to conceal the wear and of course black goes with everything! -Olivia

Toddler + Mommy Snacks On-the-Go!

snackonthegoBeing a mom of a 17-month old I learn something new every day. We are in the throes of toddler-hood and I am enjoying every minute. It’s been amazing to watch my little boy grow so quickly from an infant into a toddler! Greyson is a fun-loving active kid, who is a ball of energy! That said, this is also a stage where his attention span hits a wall and being a working mother, it’s important for me to get errands and chores done quickly and efficiently. One of the things that have made life a little easier is having healthy and easy to pack snacks on hand at all times for Grey when we are out. I need to choose snacks that he loves, but that also keep his little hands and mouth busy while I get done shopping or running back and forth.

My husband and I are conscious when it comes to our son’s snacks being as healthy as possible. I usually throw an apple or tangerine in my bag, but one of our favorite snacks is Bitsy’s Brainfood Smart Cookies. They are alphabet shaped cookies baked with real fruits and veggies. The best part? They come in handy individual packs. Grey loves the Sweet Potato, Oatmeal and Raisin flavors. Having a sippy cup on hand is great too, since it can keep him busy for a few minutes. Yes- just minutes! If you are already a mom, you’ll know that’s a few golden moments! If you are expecting, I hope that you remember these tips in your near future. I try to always have a Kind Bar in my Buffalo Carry-All bag as well, in order to stave off mommy hunger! Handy on-the-go wipes and a chic (not-obvious) baby bag round out my arsenal of running-errand must haves. Happy outings! -Olivia

Chic This Week // The Baby Bag

Destination Maternity Diaper BagI’ve noticed that sporting a “Diaper Bag” is so last year! Seriously, what I love about today’s modern mothers is that they are looking for bags that do not just double duty, but really triple duty: something that looks cute and doesn’t impede on their mom style, something that won’t make dad cringe if he gets stuck at the check-out line with it and obviously something that is functional. It makes perfect sense, since for the first few years you will be toting around everything from cheerios, clothes, iPads and yes, diapers. Wendy Bellissimo, Oioi and Rebecca Minkoff offer some great baby bag options that are not only functional, but pack some serious style as well. -Olivia
