Staci Acquasanta of Leather & LeopsLEATHER & LEOPS is a stylist, fashion blogger and soon-to- be mom! She has an amazing sense of style, so it’s no surprise she’s looking fabulous through pregnancy. During a recent chat Staci dished, “Just because I was pregnant did not mean I was going to start dressing any differently. I was so excited to see that everything I would typically wear was offered in maternity versions at Destination Maternity. While I did love my maternity leggings, I would try to dress it up with a long sleeved tee and a fur vest.  I always say that it’s important to dress for your body and being pregnant, I tried to do just that.”

Some of Staci’s favorite maternity essentials are easy layering tanks, Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter and a great body pillow. She’s also been living in A Pea in the Pod’s Splendid Maternity Leggings and David Lerner Leggings and counts herself a fan of our designer jeans featuring the Secret Fit Belly®.  “I loved that I was able to go to Destination Maternity and find my favorite designer jean brands in maternity versions” said Staci. “The Secret Fit Belly is so comfortable and has allowed me to easily grow into my pants, as I’ve worn them from month 3 to now (almost 8) without any problem. Besides the belly material, the jeans feel just like a normal pair of jeans and have the same exact look. I also loved that I was able to get more than plain denim.  I invested in a pair of black coated and maroon coated pants to change up my look from everyday denim. My favorites by far have been AG, DL1961, A Pea in the Pod’s boyfriend jeans and 7 For All Mankind.”

We love that Staci’s style hasn’t wavered! She’s proven that you can stay true to your own style even with a bump! -Olivia

Maternity Denim // Blogger Style

Here’s the latest round-up of some of my favorites expecting bloggers. This season it’s all about dark denim with cool coating or leather-like finishes and these ladies all rock the look perfectly with their bumps.StyleFile-BloggerHudson-2_608x826Bloggers Irina Bond of Bond Girl Glam, Ananda Saba of Super Fashionable and Andee Layne of The Honeybee all have such great style that it’s no surprise they continue to look completely chic throughout their pregnancies. Both Irina and Andee are sporting DL1961’s coated Secret Fit Belly® skinny jeans. I love that Irina totally tones them down with an easy tee and our chunky maternity cardi, and Andee goes rocker glam in an all-black ensemble with chic heels and a red felt hat. It goes to show that these jeans are versatile, especially since they can even be worn after baby too.StyleFile-BloggerHudson-3_608x672Another fashion-forward dark skinny look I love is on Ananda, who is wearing our Secret Fit Belly® AG black skinny maternity jeans. Here she styles them with a pretty pair of flats and chic leather jacket, totally nailing the desk to dinner look. Plus, her accessories are always on point with a fabulous red lip and cat eye shades.

Maternity Denim // Blogger Style

Some of my favorite bloggers and fashion influencers have recently announced their pregnancies these past few months. Bloggers like Samantha Wennerstrom of Could I Have That, Jennifer Rand of Belle de Couture and Irina Bond of Bond Girl Glam prove that your style certainly does not have to waiver while you are expecting.Designer Maternity DenimDesigner Maternity DenimWhat I love about each of these fashionistas is how they’ve been able to maintain their own personal sense of style during their transition into motherhood. Sam takes modern and minimal dressing to a new level with her clean lined looks and her sophisticated, chic accessories. Jennifer has a more classic feminine appeal with the way she accessorizes, always looking fresh and fun in pops of color. Irina is a true femme fatale who isn’t afraid to take fashion risks like pairing a wide brimmed hat with her casual downtown look.

It’s really no surprise that their maternity style is influencing other expecting women; who wouldn’t want to take a cue from these stylish moms-to-be? If you take a look at their fashion repertoire you’ll find each lady rocks the perfect maternity jean. Designer denim is key in my closet as well as for so many other women I know, so it’s no shock that all of these bloggers are choosing to wear their favorite designer maternity jeans now that they are pregnant.

At A Pea in the Pod we work with brands like AG Jeans, Hudson, DL1961, and 7 for All Mankind to bring the latest denim silhouettes and washes to expecting women. With the patented Secret Fit Belly® featured on many of the brands’ jeans, comfort with support and style are accessible. I still wear my designer Secret Fit Belly® jeans. So take a note from these well- dressed women who are sporting their favorite designer duds and stay true to you, during your pregnancy and beyond

Chic This Week // Double Denim

chicthisweek826I seriously can’t get enough of denim this season! So of course one of my favorite looks is wearing a denim shirt with jeans. Getting the denim on denim look right is key. It’s as simple as making sure the washes are either very different OR only a slight shade off. Voila….double denim done right! xoxo- Olivia

From dresses and tops to distressed shorts and skinny jeans, denim is a go-to style for any mom-to-be. Try pairing two pieces together – a light chambray top with a pair of dark wash bottoms – or go for one look in a button down denim shirt dress.
