Maternity Hacks You Need To Know

Maternity Hacks Maternity_HACKS_2-608x1034Between being preggers myself and working with so many mamas-to-be, I have quite a few insider secrets to share that will help you nail your maternity look and feel your best for nine months and beyond. Read on for some of my favorite “hacks” and essentials every expecting women needs to know!

When it comes to maternity essentials, a side-ruched tee, cardigan, Secret Fit Belly® jeans and leggings, and maxi dresses are your best friends and for good reason! Not only are they the foundation of a great maternity wardrobe, you’ll be able to wear them after baby, too. They can also easily be mixed and matched together for looks that get you through any season.

A tummy belt is another secret to help you in those first few weeks, when you may want to keep your baby bump a secret. The little piece of elastic and button helps you adjust your jeans for the right fit. Alternatively, a tummy tube or tummy sleeve can be worn low on your waist, over your pants to smooth and support your bump.

For a universal bra with tons of room to grow, look for a maternity sports bra. Of course you’ll want to work in your favorite maternity bra styles throughout your pregnancy, but if you’re looking for a versatile no fuss fit- try a sports bra and try it early.

Did you know that keeping hydrated is paramount when you are pregnant?  Staying hydrated also helps with nausea. For even better hydration and extra electrolytes, snack on pineapples. To beat nausea, pop some SweetTarts. Trust me, they do the job like all of these tips and tricks! Xoxo, Olivia

What to Wear, Where // Luxe Party Looks

It’s time to talk about what to wear to your holiday office party… family reunion…date night out… everywhere this season! It’s a busy time for most of us mamas and worrying about “what you’ll wear” shouldn’t be an issue, definitely not if you are expecting!W2WW_PartyLooks_2-608x560Luckily, there is no better reason than the holidays to add on the glam! A little red maternity dress is totally chic and party appropriate, but so are dressy separates. If you are choosing a dress, I love the idea staying seasonal, or mixing it up with a nice jewel tone like teal. The key to getting a fun colored dress to work with your bump is keeping the silhouette simple. Choosing a clean shape with a chic detail like a ruffle or necklace trim gives you a flattering and modern look that works for your figure. You can’t go wrong with a classic black peep-toe heel or bootie when wearing a bold color.W2WW_PartyLooks_3-608x623If you aren’t drawn to a dress for your holiday soiree, then go glam in a maternity skinny and blazer. A classic black skinny Secret Fit Belly® jean paired with an embellished blouse and blazer is super chic. The great thing about these pieces is that with the right accessories, like a d’orsay heel, metallic clutch, or gold cuff, your outfit instantly becomes cocktail ready. PLUS you’ll get style mileage out of these pieces and can dress them down with denim for a more casual look. A tuxedo blazer or maternity lace pant does the same thing. When paired together- POW, completely polished! Or, wear them separately with a tee and jean for a cool casual downtown look.W2WW_PartyLooks_4-608x648Lastly, if you’re going black tie this season, an elegant solid colored maternity gown should be your go-to. Again a simple silhouette like an asymmetric column paired with the right accessories is flattering for your bump and remains fashion-forward. Classic accessories like a fabulous cocktail ring, strappy gold heel, red lip or nail will complete this look. Happy styling and hope you all enjoy every holiday affair!- Olivia
